i personally think its a cosplay, as a lot of people do put their own ideas to it, as they know it can be a bit mundane.
as a fan of death note, i love the cosplay, and like.. i think it's awesome!

I think, L can be do as a last restort. But I don't reallt see it that way, as as long you do him really good, and think about the wig and makeup it really isn't.

i dont think it is when i did L at the expo the only last resort for me was using my friends wig *had lost L wig* its fun to do and some people give you free sweets well i got free sweets anyway >.>

the only thing with that is walking around hyde park and london with no shoes or socks on, but for an expo where its inside, no shoes, no socks ^^
i think L is like evryones said, a cosplay when thought about, if its the "i dont know oh look i have jeans n tee shirt" but wig, makeup, the way u act, it all makes it the cosplay ^^
i dont really like or know deathnote, its only anoying when u have L's by the hundred *scary thought*

It depends on the effort put into it really...so if people just slap on a white shirt, baggy jeans, eyeliner, and walk around with their thumb in their mouth, then yeah, its a last resort. If people put an effort into trying to act like him and look like him to the point where they TRY then I'd call it cosplay
